Michaela and Kyle wanted a wedding that hit all the right notes: contemporary and whimsical yet grounded in tradition with a Catholic ceremony. Challenge accepted. At their elegant ceremony at St. Matthew’s Cathedral Micheala and Kyle’s playful personalities couple be glimpsed in butterflies on the bride’s shoes and a rainbow parade of Converse on the groom and his crew. Guests arrived to a showstopper of a reception inspired by a modern take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Dramatic trees, vibrant flowers, and bold lighting set the scene, creating a whimsical setting for a killer dance party. A stunning rainbow of dried flowers suspended above the dinner tables stopped guests in their tracks. The tablescapes were clean and contemporary with wave-like linens, crisp white dishware, and vellum menus letting the electric mix of springtime blooms, colorful glassware, and playful pink bars steal the show. Kicking the reception off with a dancing set the tone to ‘party-all-night’, which is exactly what everyone did. A choice between Blade & Bow Bourbon and champagne for toasting, was a playful nod to the couple’s love of whisky. It was a party for the ages, with a high-energy band keeping the dance floor packed – and the groom crowd surfing! A wedding should feel like you—and this one did, from the first step down the aisle to final song.
